The Cascade Graph

Economics is downstream of physics. This is a knowledge graph of how stress flows through the real economy — the drivers that push, the chokepoints where stress concentrates, the jurisdictions and geographies that control them, and the listed securities that may capture value or absorb downside. The graph is built to trace where structural pressure cascades — on both the problem and the solution side.

477 nodes (46 drivers · 120 chokepoints · 11 geographies · 6 jurisdictions · 10 substitutes · 284 terminal sets) · 729 mechanism edges (60 direct citations pending) · 10 signed cycles + 36 sign-undetermined cycles. 690 instrument mappings reviewed to a stated scope; suitability is not assessed.

How to use this

1. Pick a theme to narrow the map. 2. Click a node for sourced data, candidate securities and explicit evidence gaps. 3. Focus mode isolates direct causes and consequences. 4. A cascade is a one-way chain; a cycle is a closed path whose sign may be reinforcing, balancing or not established — toggle Loops to inspect it.

What this is, and how to read it

The Cascade Graph is a directed knowledge graph of the physical economy. Stress flows left-to-right: drivers push pressure into the system; jurisdictions and geographies gate it; it concentrates at chokepoints; substitutes can cap the pressure; and listed-security terminal sets show where value might accrue or risk might land. Arrows are graded hypotheses, not universal laws: neutral thematic links are explicitly not established as signed causal mechanisms.

Cascade ≠ signed feedback

A cascade is a directed causal path. A cycle closes back on itself, but a neutral/control edge can leave its net sign undetermined. An attractive story is not proof of reinforcing returns.

Problem vs. Solution plays

Each node is tagged a problem play (own the scarcity), a solution play (own what gets bought to fix it), or both. Switch the color mode to see the whole map through that lens.

Evidence gaps are visible

Edges retain basis grades where available. 60 mechanisms lack direct citation URLs; those are labelled rather than counted as independently substantiated. A live URL alone is not a verified claim.

No orphans

Every one of the 477 nodes is wired to the rest through a physical or economic mechanism. The graph is a single connected system — because the real economy is.

Not investment advice

This is a research map, not a recommendation. Of 690 mapped instruments, the two-reader and earlier accepted reviews report 27 supported, 325 conditional, 153 unresolved gaps and 185 contradicted exposure claims. All 598 formerly single-pass mappings received a second read, but original-source quotation, materiality and parent-node scope still vary by item. Business exposure, dated financials, a tradeable symbol and an intact graph link do not make an equity attractive, safe, cheap, suitable or likely to rise. Downside bearers are not beneficiaries. You may lose money. Read the full disclaimer.

Open data — full graph and sample

The complete graph is downloadable, including explicit source/evidence status and unverified links. The smaller copper branch is a worked example, not a separate claim that all its tickers have passed the latest issuer audit. Read the methodology and compare every issuer source before using the data.

Dated evidence snapshot, not a live recommendation service. The copper sample carries its stated CC BY-NC 4.0 license; see site terms for other material.

Support the research & hosting

AtomProphet is independent, ad-light, and reader-funded. Contributions help cover data feeds, hosting, and the time behind the Cascade Graph — they keep this research free and open. A tip buys nothing, unlocks nothing, and is not payment for advice or for any security mentioned anywhere on this site.
